Translate Your Sewing Guide

My sewing guides are written in English, but you can read yours in your own language. It only takes a few minutes, and the illustrations speak every language. 😊

Option 1: Google Translate (free)

  1. Go to translate.google.com on your computer.
  2. Choose Documents.
  3. Choose English on the left.
  4. Choose your language on the right. Use the arrow to see more languages.
  5. Upload your 01-SEWING-GUIDE file: drag and drop it, or click Browse your files.

Google Translate Documents page: open translate.google.com, choose Documents, English on the left, your language on the right, then drag and drop your sewing guide or browse your files

  1. Click Translate.
  2. Click Download translation, and keep it next to the original.

Google Translate: select Translate, then Download translation to save your translated sewing guide

Google's document translation works on a computer, for PDF files up to 10 MB.

Option 2: DeepL (free account)

  1. Go to deepl.com and choose Translate files.
  2. Click Sign up for free, or Log in if you already have an account. The free account translates 1 whole file a month.
  3. Upload your 01-SEWING-GUIDE file, pick your language, and download the translated file.

DeepL: choose Translate files, then Sign up for free or Log in to translate your sewing guide

DeepL often sounds more natural. The free versions of both tools have file-size limits, so if a big guide won't upload, try the other tool or translate it a few pages at a time.

Option 3: Your phone camera

Printed your guide? Open the Google Translate app, tap Camera, and point it at the page. The translation appears right on your screen.

A little tip

Sewing words don't always translate perfectly. If a sentence doesn't make sense, look at the illustration for that step. That's usually the quickest answer.
